Over 137,000 workers get employment assistance

VGP - Over 137,000 jobs were created in Hanoi in the first seven months of 2022, representing 85.8% of the annual plan and an increase of 23.2% year-on-year, according to the municipal Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

In July alone, over 18,400 jobs were generated. About 7,200 others were give job consultations. Over 100 people were supported with vocational training programs worth VND443 million (nearly US$19,000).

From daily, online, themed and mobile job boards in districts across the city, 1,900 people have been hired. In addition, 12,100 people have been sent to work abroad.

Job fairs in districts are aimed at finding employment for workers, supporting businesses in labor hiring to promptly recover after being severely hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The growing demand for labor from Ha Noi companies showed a recovery in production and business after long being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The mobile job fairs were organized by the Ha Noi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in collaboration with the People's Committees of Dong Anh, Me Linh, Ba Vi, Gia Lam, Long Bien, Hoan Kiem districts.

The job fairs drew the particiation of businesses namely Viet Nam Airlines Corporation and TP Banks.

Several companies required no experience from job seekers and were willing to spend the initial training costs as they rush to complete their business plan for the second half of the year.

In the rest of 2022, the city will continue to implement solutions to energize the labor market, including reducing the time to handle administrative procedures, holding vocational training and finding jobs for unemployed people, deploying policies to provide loans for job creation, labor export, production development, restoration and development of traditional handicraft industries.

Moreover, Ha Noi will continue to implement policies to support workers both in terms of loans as well as training to foster and improve vocational skills./.
