Capital looks to generate 160,000 new jobs in 2021
VGP – Ha Noi targets to create jobs for 160,000 workers and reduce the urban unemployment rate to below 4%, according to the city’s job creation plan in 2021.

Under the plan, the city expects to effectively roll out industrial programs and projects, lure more investment projects into industrial zones as well as fostering craft villages in the direction of improving quality, efficiency and competitiveness.
The local authorities will step up industry restructuring, promoting the development of hi-tech agriculture and organic agriculture to stimulate consumption markets; concentrate on improving the investment environment, solving difficulties for production and business, and thoroughly addressing petitions lodged by enterprises, especially those on administrative procedures reform.
The city will perform synchronous solutions to support the development of small- and medium-sized enterprises in 2021-25, promoting start-ups and innovation.
Nearly 70,000 laborers lost their jobs amid the COVID-19 crisis as many enterprises in Ha Noi were forced to scale down production or temporarily suspended operations. Over 3,010 enterprises in the Capital had been seriously affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Of them, 741 have been forced to suspend operations, leaving tens of thousands of laborers unemployed.
Nearly 40,000 teachers and staff at private schools have also had their incomes lowered due to the pandemic./.
