Ha Noi vows to create conditions for female intellectuals' contributions to development

At the Dialogue with Women in the capital in 2022 held on November 30, Secretary of the City Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung said, over the past time, the Capital Women's Union had actively carried out the capital's political tasks, participated in epidemic prevention and control, and economic development.
The dialogue focused on three issues: promoting women's role and organizing the Women's Union in building new rural areas and civilized cities; discussing ways to create a safe and friendly city for women and children; proposing the contents of building a solid female association.
Regarding the performance results of Ha Noi Women's Unions at all levels from the beginning of 2022 until now, the President of the Ha Noi Women's Union, Le Kim Anh, said that the total number of female members in the city was now over 902,000.
The percentage of women participating in party committees at all levels for the 2020-2025 term increased compared to previous terms: at the city level - 19.7 percent (up 7.7 percent); grassroots level - 26.3 percent (up 3.6 percent), and district level - 24.1percent (up 8.03 percent).
Female People's Council deputies increased at three levels, of which the city level was 25.3 percent (up 1.5 percent).
The Secretary of the City Party Committee suggested that the Ha Noi Fatherland Front Committee promote the role of female intellectuals and female experts in the city's Advisory Councils.
The Party Committee of the City People's Committee needs to consult the Women's Intellectuals Association when developing several essential policies such as Capital Law (amended), specific mechanisms and policies, issues related to the environment, or education and training policies.
Besides, Party committees and authorities at all levels should effectively implement Directive No. 22-CT/TU dated May 10, 2018, of the Ha Noi Party Committee on promoting the city's women's work, solutions to prevent, strictly and promptly handle acts of violence and abuse against women and children./.
