The commitment was announced by Vice Chairwoman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha at the launch of the Public Health Checkup and Management Program in Quang Minh commune on October 2.

Ha stressed that safeguarding and improving public health is a top political priority and a strategic goal of the city, one that requires the involvement of the entire political system, society, and each individual. She tasked the Department of Health with working with relevant agencies to roll out annual free checkups for all citizens.

Implementation will follow a phased roadmap, prioritizing specific target groups. Public health objectives will also be incorporated into Ha Noi's socioeconomic development strategies, plans, and policies.

Ha further urged advances in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in healthcare services, along with reforms in healthcare governance such as streamlined procedures, decentralization, policy updates, and institutional improvement. She underlined the need to strengthen the health system, especially preventive care and local medical services.

Quang Minh commune, formerly part of Me Linh district, has been a pioneer in organizing health checkups since May 2023. After the recent administrative reorganization, the commune was selected as the pilot site for Hanoi's two-tier digital health station model, a cornerstone of the city's digital health infrastructure.

According to Quang Minh Party Secretary Nguyen Thanh Liem, today's program launch shows the government's determination to translate Party resolutions and municipal directives into practice.

Chairman of the Quang Minh People's Committee Nguyen Tien Dung noted that the universal checkup program will provide residents with consultations, early disease detection, and referrals for treatment, as well as personalized advice. Digital health records are also being created; so far, records have been completed for 63,344 residents, including 8,748 elderly people and 27,645 informal workers.

During the current round of checkups, residents are being examined across five specialties, covering 27 general clinical areas and four paraclinical fields./.
