The document was inked by Deputy Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee and Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang and Sejong Mayor Jo Sang-ho on the occasion of the Ha Noi's official's visit to South Korea.
During the meeting between the two officials on the same day, Vu expressed his delight at the city's modern, green and smart planning as well as its policies on digital transformation and application of science and technology in people's daily lives.
He noted that the meeting marked the beginning of development cooperation between the two cities through the signing of the Letter of Intent.
Vu highlighted the two cities' shared distinctive position as political and administrative centers of their respective countries, as well as their common need to innovate governance to better serve their people.
The key task following the signing ceremony would be to quickly translate the cooperation commitments into practical programs and actions, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of both cities, he noted.
Vu proposed that in the upcoming period, the two sides focus on promoting cooperation and translating it into specific projects and programs in such areas as administrative governance, smart-city development, digital transformation and sustainable urban planning.
He also called for stronger economic, trade, science and technology cooperation; greater connectivity among government agencies, businesses and universities in the two localities; and enhanced collaboration in education and training, human resource development and people-to-people exchanges.
Jo, for his part, affirmed the importance of the cooperation agreement between the two cities, describing it as a new starting point that would serve as a bridge to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Viet Nam and South Korea.
He expressed his hope that his upcoming visit to Ha Noi would provide an opportunity for the leaders of the two cities to continue their exchanges and translate the Letter of Intent into concrete cooperation programs and meaningful, practical activities between the two sides./.
