Ha Noi pilots birth registration service at maternity hospital
VGP - Ha Noi piloted an on-site birth registration service at Ha Noi Obstetrics and Gynaecology Hospital, receiving 60 applications in its first week, 20 of which have been processed.

The initiative, jointly launched by the Ha Noi Public Administrative Service Centre and the hospital, enables parents to complete birth registration procedures without leaving the hospital after childbirth.
Under the pilot, administrative staff guide parents through the required documents, application forms and online registration process, eliminating the need to travel to government offices to complete the procedures.
The service is designed to reduce administrative burdens and travel for families with newborns, particularly mothers recovering from childbirth.
According to the centre, applications submitted at the hospital are forwarded to the relevant commune- or ward-level authorities across Ha Noi on the same day for processing.
The service has attracted applications from families residing in various parts of the city, including Lang, Ngoc Ha, Giang Vo, Xuan Dinh, Hoang Mai, Thuong Tin, An Khanh, Soc Son, Gia Lam and Phu Xuyen.
Officials said the initial results indicated that the service could benefit families across the capital, rather than only those living near the hospital.
However, the pilot has faced several challenges, particularly in coordinating with local authorities responsible for processing applications and ensuring the stability of user accounts on the administrative system.
The centre said it would work with the hospital and relevant agencies to address these difficulties, streamline procedures and provide clearer instructions to parents.
Authorities will evaluate the pilot's effectiveness before considering its expansion to other healthcare facilities that meet the required conditions./.
