According to KTO Viet Nam, under the theme “Imagine Your Korea”, during VITM 2020 (November 18-21), Korean businesses will not only introduce tourism information but also offer many cultural experiences such as wearing traditional Korean dress (Hanbok) for free, watching a K-Pop Cover Dance show, and solving puzzles to receive gifts.

Head of the KTO Representative Office in Viet Nam Park Jong-sun said that as shown in KTO statistics, the Republic of Korea welcomed more than 457,000 arrivals of Vietnamese tourists in 2018, an increase of more than 40% compared to 2017.

In 2019, the figure climbed to over 553,000 arrivals, up over 20% from the previous year. These numbers have confirmed Viet Nam’s leading position as the market with the highest growth rate in the world regarding Korean tourism over the past few years.

“Through participating in VITM Hanoi 2020, KTO hopes to revive the interest of Vietnamese tourists in Korean destinations. At the same time, KTO will also accompany travel firms to promote the recovery of the tourism market, as soon as air routes connecting Viet Nam and the ROK are resumed in the near future, thus promoting the rebounce of tourism exchange between the two countries,” he added.

Head of the JNTO Representative Office in Viet Nam Takahashi Ayumi noted that alongside the popular destinations to Vietnamese tourists such as Tokyo, Mount Fuji, Kyoto and Osaka, the attractiveness of many other regions of Japan will be introduced during the event via video screening, as well as leaflets and publications at pavilions.

“We hope that visitors will have interesting experiences with Japanese tourism, even in the current period when trips remain unable to be carried out,” he stated./.
