Positive change in enterprises’ business & production

VGP – The business and production situation of enterprises in the first quarter of 2021 changed in a more positive manner compared to Q4 2020, according to the Ha Noi Statistical Office (HSO).

A recent HSO survey on business trends of firms in the manufacturing and processing industry showed that 22.6% of respondents said the business situation in Q1 2021 was better than the previous quarter, while 38.7% of them said the business situation was stable. 

Another 38.7% of companies stated that they faced more difficulties in doing business than Q4 2020.

About 48.2% of enterprises expected their production and business in Q2 2021 to be better than the first quarter if the COVID-19 pandemic is brought under control in the following months. 

Meanwhile, 32.3% of them predicted stable production and 19.5% forecast more difficulties.

According to statistics from the Ha Noi Department of Planning and Investment, in March, the city granted certificates to 2,622 newly established enterprises with  registered capital of VND23.61 trillion (down 2% in the number of enterprises and up 7% in the registered capital year-on-year), while implementing dissolution procedures for 335 companies (up 82% over the same period in 2020). 

As many as 679 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend their business (up 89%), and 765 others resumed operations, a 3.1-fold increase compared to March 2020.

Regarding the first quarter of 2021, Ha Noi licensed 5,873 new enterprises with registered capital of VND59.8 trillion, down 6% in the number of businesses and 15% in the registered capital. 

Meanwhile, 901 companies were dissolved, up 57% year-on-year; 4,880 firms temporarily suspended their business, an increase of 56%; and 3,993 enterprises resumed their operations, 2.1 times higher than the Q1 2020 figure. 

The percentage of online business registration was maintained at 100%, with the quality ensured and the deadline met./.
