The Government chief made the point on April 11 while receiving a Japanese environmental expert delegation led by Dr. Tadashi Yamamura, a United Nations expert on the field.

PM Phuc stressed that Viet Nam extremely attaches importance to environmental protection in national development. Hence, the programs are practical for Viet Nam. He was convinced that the delegation would contribute to cementing and deepening the friendly relations between the two countries.

In reply, Dr. Tadashi Yamamura revealed that the Japanese side has already planned to install modern equipment under the To Lich River to clear up the river-bed. He believed that thank to bio-nano technology, after three days, the bad smell will be dramatically decreased. The expert also hoped that the modern technology would support Viet Nam to handle water contamination.

PM Phuc welcomed the Japan’s proposal which is suitable with the orientations of the Party and Government of Viet Nam on environmental protection.

He suggested the Japanese experts and the Japan-Viet Nam Environment Improvement Company work with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee to implement the program in line with the regulations./.
