Pedestrian walking streets suspended during Tet holidays
VGP - Pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem lake and ancient streets at the heart of Ha Noi will suspend activities during the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival within two weeks from January 20 (or the 29th day of the last lunar month), according to the People’s Committee of Hoan Kiem district announced on January 17.
Chairman of the committee Pham Tuan Long said that this move targets to facilitate the traffic during the Tet – the largest festival in year of Vietnamese people.
A firework show is scheduled to be launched ahead of Ha Noi Moi Newspaper Headquarter and Ha Noi Post Office on Lunar New Year's Eve.
Earlier, the local authorities reported a series of fireworks shows at 30 venues in the capital on the upcoming traditional Vietnamese New Year's Eve.
There will be 30 fireworks shows in the capital, two of them in Hoan Kiem district in Ha Noi's downtown and one in each of the remaining 29 districts and towns./.
