COVID-19 booster shots to be deployed from December
VGP - The Ha Noi People's Committee on December 23 issued Plan No. 297/KH-UBND on carrying out a campaign to give COVID-19 booster shots to fully vaccinated people.
Under Plan 297, the COVID-19 vaccination drive is scheduled to be launched from December 2021 to June 2022.
The additional dose is administered at least 28 days to three months after the last dose of the primary course.
The booster shot will also be given to people who have received the primary course, but suffer from moderate to severe immunodeficiency such as organ transplant recipients, cancer patients, people with HIV, taking immunosuppressive drugs or treated with such drugs within six months, as well as people who have received two doses of Sputnik V vaccines.
The vaccines to be used are either the same type with the primary course, or mRNA technology vaccines (Pfizer or Moderna).
With a population of nearly ten million, Ha Noi has administered over 6.8 million first doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and some six million second jabs, according to the national Covid-19 vaccination portal./.
