The plan excludes those who had received vaccines containing the measles component or the MR vaccine, or vaccines with both measles and rubella components within one month prior to the drive, as well as those fully vaccinated.

The Ministry of Health on August 22 kick-started a measles vaccine campaign at 100 districts and communes of 18 localities in Viet Nam in a bid to prevent infection outbreak nationwide.

After the Ministry of Health allocates the vaccine to all the 579 communes, wards, and towns of Ha Noi's 30 districts, the vaccination will be implemented in the fourth quarter of 2024 at health stations, kindergartens, preschools, and other sites.

The Ha Noi Centre for Disease Control said from September 13 to 20, the city recorded two additional cases of measles, one 15 months old, and the other seven years old.

Measles cases are on the rise in localities, including Ho Chi Minh City, and the central provinces of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa. In Hanoi, more cases are expected for the coming months, particularly the rest of the year./.
