The city has gone 42 days with zero new local infections since February 16. In the fourth stage, the city confirmed 35 locally-transmitted cases.

Earlier, 89 people who had contacts with COVID-19 patient were tested negative.

From March 22-29, the Health Department vaccinated 1,168 medical workers against Covid-19, bringing the total number of people getting jabs to 7,419. All recipients were in stable condition.

According to Mr. Dung, the recent illegal immigration case confirmed positive for coronavirus raised public concern. The Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control and related localities timely traced contacts and collected samples of those who had contacts. However, the city is facing high risks of community infection.

The local authorities have loosened restrictions to resume the ‘normal’ status. However, it is necessary to tighten management and inspection work, Mr. Dung stressed.

He tasked districts, communes, and offices to implement COVID-19 safety measures in accordance with instructions of the Ministry of Health; seriously comply with the 5K message; and implement health declaration via QR- Code.

Earlier, Ha Noi allowed pubs, karaoke bars and discos to resume their activities from 0:00 am on March 23./.
