HN prepares for third tropical typhoon
VGP – Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Chung issued on August 18 an urgent telegraph asking for prompt actions to brace for the third tropical storm.

The tropical storm, which developed from a low-pressure system near the East Sea, will bring torrential rains with rainfall up to 150-250 mm for localities in the northern and central regions from August 18. The storm is forecasted to make landfall near coastal areas from Quảng Ninh Province to Nghệ An Province.
The storm, forecasted to be the third storm battering the East Sea this year, is moving west at 20 km per hour and was predicted to gain more strength.
The Chairman tasked the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control at local levels to work with irrigation enterprises and the Transport Department to handle flood, landslide, and ensure people’s safety.
The Ha Noi Green Trees-Park Limited Company was asked to check newly-planted trees and clear away falling trees to ensure lives and properties of local residents.
The Ha Noi Electricity was assigned to inspect power pillars and networks to ensure stable power supply./.
