HN: Nearly 50% of adult population fully vaccinated

VGP – Over 8.75 million doses of vaccines have been administered in Ha Noi and 47.4% of over 18-year-old population has received two jabs each, according to the Ha Noi Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The CDC reported that as of October 12, 97.95% of over 18-year-old residents in Ha Noi have been partially inoculated with nearly 5.9 million doses. Meanwhile, 2.8 million others have been fully vaccinated, accounting for 47.4% of the eligible population, equivalent to 34.4% of the population. 

Specifically, grass-root medical facilities administered 7.5 million doses including 5.1 million first doses and 2.4 million second doses. Central hospitals inoculated 1.15 million doses including 792,138 first doses and 367,702 second doses.

In the coming time, Ha Noi will continue to administer the second doses for those who already received their first shot.  

Earlier, nearly 8,000 medical workers, doctors, testing staff, technicians, and students from 12 provinces and cities, including Bac GiangBac Ninh, Hung Yen, Ha Nam, Vinh PhucHoaBinh, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen QuangHai Duong, Phu ThoQuang Ninh and Hai Phong were sent to the capital to help the metropolis vaccinate its entire adult population before September 15. 

The capital city of Ha Noi also mobilized all resources and took advantage of the social distancing period to speed up COVID-19 testing and complete the first dose vaccination for residents aged from 18.

The local health sector set up 1,600 vaccination facilities with the capacity of administering about 500,000 people a day./.
