HN controls COVID-19 disease outbreak by deploying three-layer model

Specifically, the model requires application of social distancing rules in different levels in accordance with the PM’s Directive 16 in the core layer, the PM’ Directive 15 in the middle layer and the PM’s Directive 19 in the outer layer. 

Mr. Dung made the point on May 10 in Ha Noi at a meeting on COVID-19 prevention and control. 

Director of the municipal Health Department Tran Thi Nhi Ha reported that since April 29, the city detected 46 domestically transmitted cases at 11 districts and towns in which 28 areas have been locked down. 

So far, the city has controlled five out of eigh disease chains which related to Ha Nam province, Vinh Phuc province, Da Nang city, Indian experts, and flight VN 160. 

Regarding the cluster relating to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2 in Dong Anh district, 11 patients known as F0 and 217 others who had contacts with F0, so-called F1 were recorded in Ha Noi. 

In the another cluster of Ha Noi National Cancer Hospital K3 in Thanh Tri district, two patients were identified as F0 and 71 others were named as F1. 

The cluster which related to Bac Ninh province comprised 14 F0 and 122 F1. 

Ms. Nhi underlined that she was afraid of the three clusters following increasing number of new infections. 

So far, the city is capable of daily testing 30,000 samples for people who are suspected to have the virus.

Mr. Tien Dung stressed the importance of serious application of the “5K” message, fast tracing and testing. 

Earlier, Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh made a working visit to Kim Son commune in Gia Lam district, where new Covid-19 cases linked to the outbreak in Thuan Thanh district in northern province of Bac Ninh have been confirmed. 

The Ha Noi mayor requested the issuance of the highest warning level amid the complicated development of COVID-19 in the city.

He said that although Ha Noi has stepped up prevention efforts, the COVID-19 pandemic is dangerously evolving with three risks that could increase the number of cases in the time ahead./.
