Ha Noi to provide 14 more free wi-fi hotspots
VGP- In 2020, Ha Noi will set up more free public Wi-Fi hotspots at tourist attractions in the urban districts.

The new Wi-Fi hotspots will be put into operation by October 10 to mark the 1010th founding anniversary of Thang Long – Ha Noi.
Some areas in the Old Quarter include:
One Pillar Pagoda
Hoa Lo Prison relic
48 Hang Ngang street relic
Hanoi Opera House
Vietnam Military History Museum
Vietnamese Women's Museum
the Temple of Literature
Van Phuc Silk Village, among others.
This is part of the city’s efforts to boost tourism development in the 2016-2020 period and the years to come, while supporting the construction of e-government and smart city.
Previously, in 2017, the city started offering free Wi-Fi access around popular destinations such as Hoan Kiem lake, the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long historical site, Huong (Perfume) pagoda and Bat Trang Ceramic Craft Village.
Ha Noi is step by step implementing projects and solutions, including solutions on technology and smart tourism development, to make the tourism industry truly its spearhead economic sector with sustainable development.
From now on, the public has free access to public wifi in historic sites and tourist destinations in the capital.
The capital city aims to develop telecommunication and IT infrastructure so as to provide free Wi-fi at tourist spots and at 80% of the hotels and restaurants.
Last year Hanoi received 29 million visitors, up 10% from 2018, including seven million foreigners, a 17% increase./.
