Hà Nội stimulates consumption with 2nd promotion month

VGP – Drawing 350-500 sellers and about 1,000 promotion shops throughout the city, the Promotion Month, hosted by Hà Nội in November, is expected to warm up domestic consumption.

Major promotion goods include food, beverage, domestic utensils, garments, footwear, electric and electronic goods, computers, hotel, restaurant and tourist services.

The enterprises taking part in the campaign pledged to cut 30-50% of the selling price of at least ten goods.

The Promotion Month, lasting from October 31 to November 30, aims at stimulating Hà Nội’s consumption and production, so as to help push up the capital city’s socio-economic development and growth.

This is the 2nd "Promotion Month" hosted by Hà Nội, after the first one held in 2007.

According to the city’s Department of Industry and Trade, the organizer, the event will be held annually from now on.

Recently, Hồ Chí Minh City, the biggest business center of Việt Nam, decided to select September 2009 as its Promotion Month to meet locals’ demands and attract foreign tourists.
