Ha Noi: Nearly 3,400 businesses resume operations in January

VGP - Up to 3,369 enterprises in Ha Noi resumed their operations in the first month of 2021, representing a 142% spike compared to the same period last year, according to the municipal Department of Planning and Investment.

The city granted registration certificates to over 1,790 businesses in January, with a total capital of VND19.18 trillion (US$832.72 million), up 3% year-on-year in the number of companies and down 50% in terms of the registered capital. 

The rate of online business registration was 100% of the received dossiers.

However, a total of 235 local firms registered to dissolve during the  month, up 45% compared to January 2020, while 4,160 registered to temporarily cease their operations, an increase of 32%, making the total number of enterprises in the capital at 282,787.

With the spirit of accompanying enterprises, continuing to improve the investment environment, enhancing competitiveness, and supporting and developing businesses under the direction of the Government, Ha Noi will focus on implementing a number of major tasks and solutions in the time ahead, including grasping businesses’ difficulties and proposals, accelerating the implementation of the city’s working plans and programs on supporting businesses in 2021 and until 2025, effectively fulfilling tasks set in the project on supporting startup and innovation in the city during 2019-2025 and the project on supporting local small and medium-sized enterprises between 2021-2025. In addition, the municipal authorities will enhance the application of information technology, administrative reforms and trade-investment promotion.

Business associations, departments, branches, and districts in the city will strengthen dialogue with businesses to proactively grasp their business production situation, difficulties and recommendations for prompt handling.
