Ha Noi closes golf courses, sports events to curb COVID-19 spread

VGP – In an effort to prevent the COVID-19 spread, the Ha Noi People’s Committee has ordered the closure of all sports events involving mass gatherings as well as golf courses and training facilities from 12pm on May 13 until further notice from the municipal steering committee for pandemic fight.

Inspection teams will be set up by district-level authorities and units to monitor the observance of relevant guidelines and strictly handle violations of COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.

Heads of the steering committees of branches, levels and localities must take full responsibility before the Chairperson of the municipal People’s Committee if any violation occurs in the fields, branches and localities under their management.

Over the past days, the Ha Noi People’s Committee has issued a number of documents requesting stronger measures to contain the spread of the pandemic in the city.

According to the Ministry of Health, Viet Nam reported 21 new COVID-19 cases, all detected in quarantine areas, over the last six hours to 12pm on May 13, bringing the national count to 3,679, including 2,234 domestic infections and 1,445 imported cases. A total of 664 cases have been confirmed since the fourth COVID-19 wave hit the country on April 27.

Since the new outbreak, Ha Noi has recorded 169 caes including over 100 in two locked down hospitals./.
