Ha Noi attracts 34 new FDI projects in March

VGP – The Department of Planning and Investment of Ha Noi reported that it licensed 34 new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total registered capital of US$30.5 million in the city in March, which are 29 wholly foreign-invested projects and five joint venture ones.

Additional pledges of US$47.8 million were made to nine existing projects, while capital contribution and share purchase by foreign investors reached US$8.2 million.

In the first quarter of the year, Ha Noi has attracted US$101.5 million of FDI capital, including US$49.8 million from 69 new projects, US$51.7 million pledged for nine existing ones, and US$50.7 million of foreign investors’ capital contribution and share purchase.

In addition, the city lured roughly VND3.241 trillion (US$140.21 million) from local investors into 20 projects.

During the January-March period, Ha Noi granted business registration certificates to 2,622 new enterprises with a registered capital of VND23.61 trillion (down 2% in the number of enterprises and up 7% in the registered capital year-on-year), while processing dissolution procedures for 335 companies (up 82% over the same period in 2020). 

As many as 679 businesses registered to suspend operations (up 89%) and 765 others resumed operations, raising the total number of enterprises in the city to 308,677./.
