Of the total, 6.17 million were international tourists, marking a 23.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

From January to October, total tourism revenue was estimated at VND108.22 trillion (US$4.1 billion), a year-on-year rise of 19.8 percent.

In October alone, the capital city attracted around 2.27 million visitors, up 8.9 percent, including 695,000 foreigners, up 17.8 percent.

Ha Noi currently has 3,761 accommodation establishments with 71,256 rooms, including 85 hotels and serviced apartment complexes rated from one to five stars, offering 11,965 rooms.

As of October 20, the city was home to 2,101 enterprises providing international travel services, 586 domestic travel companies, 32 firms engaged in tourist transportation, seven representative offices of foreign travel agencies, as well as 6,817 foreign tour guides, 2,598 domestic tour guides, and 158 on-site tour guides.

Among the world's most attractive destinations

Ha Noi has been named one of the world's 50 most attractive tourist destinations by the Global Tourist Attractiveness Index (GCI), joining two other locations in Viet Nam on the list.

The capital continues to shine as a timeless cultural gem that draws millions of travelers each year. From its rich historical heritage and vibrant street food scene to its friendly, welcoming people, Ha Noi offers an authentic and memorable travel experience.

Dang Huong Giang, Director of Ha Noi's Department of Tourism, said the city remains one of Viet Nam's two largest tourism hubs, leading tourism development in the Red River Delta and northern region.

She noted that Ha Noi has developed a creative plan to boost night tourism, capitalizing on its distinctive cultural identity.

"To date, Ha Noi has introduced over 20 night tourism products and seven pedestrian zones featuring night-time cuisine and entertainment services, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually," she said.

Ha Noi's enduring charm lies in its seamless blend of past and present. From ancient temples and French colonial architecture to bustling markets and traditional craft villages, the city offers something for every traveler.

Known as the land of "a thousand years of civilization," Ha Noi captivates visitors with its harmony of tradition and modern flair. The Old Quarter's ancient tube houses pulse with daily life, while landmarks such as the Ha Noi Opera House, St. Joseph's Cathedral, and Hoan Kiem Lake evoke the city's storied past.

Unlike many tropical destinations in Southeast Asia, Ha Noi enjoys a temperate climate with four distinct seasons, giving visitors a diverse range of natural experiences year-round.

A stroll down charming streets like Hang Quat, Hang Trong, or Hang Manh treats travelers to both the sight of timeless architecture and the aroma of local delicacies—grilled pork vermicelli sizzling over charcoal and steaming bowls of pho served at roadside eateries—icons of Ha Noi's world-renowned cuisine.

The capital also ranks among the Top 4 Cities with the Most Satisfied Residents, reflecting its strong community spirit, safety, and hospitality—qualities that extend warmly to visitors.

With reasonable prices for food, drinks, and entertainment—rated "affordable" by 89 percent of surveyed tourists—Ha Noi has become a welcoming cultural haven for travelers worldwide.

This year, the city hosted numerous festivals, parades, and cultural events showcasing Viet Nam's artistic vibrancy and patriotism as the nation celebrated the 80th anniversary of its National Day.

In January 2025, the UK's Time Out Magazine ranked Ha Noi ninth among the world's 20 most vibrant cultural and artistic cities—the highest-ranking Asian city—further solidifying its status as a regional cultural powerhouse.

These accolades celebrate Ha Noi's storied past and signal a sustainable, innovative future for its tourism industry. /.
