On August 19, 2025, the train made its inaugural journey as part of its launch program, marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, as well as the beginning of a new chapter for railway tourism in the capital.
From September 6, 2025, the train officially began regular commercial operations, running approximately once a day along the route: Ha Noi Railway Station – Tu Son Station – Long Bien Station – Ha Noi Railway Station.
Looking back on its first year of operation, statistics show the strong appeal of this tourism product. With nearly 400 trips operated, the train has served almost 100,000 passengers, achieving an impressive average occupancy rate of around 80 percent.
One particularly notable highlight over the past year has been the share of international visitors, which accounted for as much as 40 percent of total passengers, or approximately 40,000 visitors. Tourists from France, Australia, Taiwan, China, South Korea have expressed great enthusiasm for this integrated tourism model.
In particular, the train is frequently fully booked on weekends, highlighting the strong demand among residents and tourists for an experience combining cultural exploration with rail travel. Its success extends beyond commercial performance, helping shape a new approach to cultural tourism in the capital.
The train carries significance beyond simply connecting geographical destinations. It serves as a link between Thang Long – the center of Dai Viet civilization – and Kinh Bac, a land renowned for its rich history and many outstanding figures./.
