Ha Noi’s GRDP records double-digit growth in Q3
VGP - Ha Noi’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the third quarter of 2026 was estimated to have increased 10.02 percent year on year, marking the first time this year that the capital has recorded double-digit growth and the highest growth rate over the past three quarters.

During January-September, the city's GRDP growth hit 8.85 percent year on year, higher than the 7.92 percent growth recorded in the same period last year.
A highlight of the capital's economic performance in the third quarter was the services sector, which grew 10.33 percent and contributed 6.79 percentage points to the city's GRDP growth.
Several service industries recorded double-digit growth. Financial, banking and insurance activities increased 12.5 percent; professional, scientific and technical activities 11.86 percent; arts, entertainment and recreation 11.33 percent; wholesale and retail trade 10.98 percent; transportation and storage 10.68 percent; administrative and support services, including tourism and travel 10.28 percent; and human health and social work activities 10.12 percent.
During the reviewed period, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached nearly VND 811 trillion (US$31.2 billion), up 15.6 percent year on year. Revenue from transportation, warehousing, transportation support services and postal and delivery services exceeded VND 232 trillion (US$8.923 billion), representing a 22.8 percent increase.
Accommodation establishments across the city served approximately 6.87 million visitors in the first nine months, up 24.3 percent, including more than 4.76 million international arrivals, up 25.7 percent.
The industry and construction sector grew 9.87 percent in the third quarter, contributing 2.22 percentage points to the city's GRDP growth. Notably, construction rose 13.63 percent, while industry expanded 8.23 percent, with manufacturing and processing increasing 8.02 percent.
The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose 9.9 percent year on year in September, 9.3 percent in the third quarter, and 9 percent in the first nine months as a whole.
Total development investment in Ha Noi during the first nine months was estimated at VND 451.4 trillion (US$17.36 billion), up 19 percent year on year.
Foreign investment inflows also maintained their growth momentum. Ha Noi attracted US$4.067 billion in FDI in the first nine months, up 5.9 percent from the same period in 2025.
State budget revenue in the city reached nearly VND 567.6 trillion (US$21.83 billion) in the first nine months, up 5.9 percent year on year, while exports totaled nearly US$16.9 billion, up 9.3 percent./.
