The total research scale for the project is approximately 16,080 hectares, including 3,280 hectares allocated for subdivision A. The planning horizon extends to 2045, with a long-term vision toward 2065. Once completed, the sports urban area will account for nearly one-twentieth of Ha Noi’s total area—a remarkable proportion compared to similar complexes worldwide.

The project represents a bold step toward establishing one of the world's largest integrated sports-urban developments.

Beyond hosting stadiums and venues for major international sporting events, the plan includes a world-class swimming center and dedicated zones for Olympic and Asian Games–standard athletes' villages. The new complex is expected to form the core of a wider sports, tourism, and ecological services hub in southern Ha Noi.

The planning task also aims to realize the National Assembly's direction outlined in the National Master Plan for 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050. It seeks to ensure urban expansion in the southern part of the capital is both modern and well-connected, integrating social and technical infrastructure across urban and rural areas.

The city envisions a smart, modern, and compact urban area, functioning as a major transport hub and contributing to socio-economic growth at Ha Noi's southern gateway. In the long term, the project is expected to position Ha Noi as a strong contender for hosting major international events such as the Asian Games and even the Olympic Games.

If realized, the Olympic sports urban area could become a landmark development for Ha Noi—reinforcing the capital's aspirations to become a leading regional center for sports, tourism, and sustainable urban innovation./.
