The local authorities of Ha Noi is set to launch an official store on the e-commerce platform Shopee this year

The initiative, outlined under Plan 256/KH-UBND and signed by Deputy Chairman of the Hà Nội People's Committee Truong Viet Dung,  pilots the program "Digital Storefront – Elevating Capital Traders."

The first Shopee-based store will feature Ha Noi's signature goods, including items certified under the "One Commune, One Product" (OCOP) program.

By the end of 2025, the city aims to have over 60 percent of its OCOP product categories (excluding fresh and processed agricultural or aquatic products) available on the platform.

To participate, businesses must adopt digital tools such as e-signatures, e-contracts, e-invoices, and product traceability solutions. They will also receive training on e-commerce management, ensuring smoother integration into online sales channels.

In the 2026-2030 period, the program will gradually expand to include more local enterprises and diversify across multiple digital platforms, including social media and cross-border e-commerce. The city also plans to connect its Technology Exchange with the Hà Nội Capital Products Store, combining scientific and technological innovation with trade development.

By 2030, Ha Noi targets to bring all OCOP product groups and at least half of other local businesses onto digital platforms. Participating enterprises will be supported in registering trademarks, logos, geographical indications, and intellectual property rights, helping to protect brands and build consumer trust.

The program also extends beyond the capital, with plans to establish a "Capital Region Products Store" to strengthen regional cooperation and promote digital economic growth across northern provinces.

The Departments of Science and Technology, Industry and Trade, and Agriculture and Environment will jointly coordinate the initiative. Shopee will provide technical development and cover all costs during the pilot phase. Meanwhile, the city will organize trade promotion events, training, and communication campaigns to raise awareness and encourage businesses to join.

The Capital is home to the highest number of craft villages in VietNam—1,350 in total, or 40 percent of the country's share—has long been recognized as the cradle of OCOP development. Since 2019, the city has evaluated and rated 3,317 OCOP products, representing 21.3 percent of Việt Nam's total. These include six five-star products, 22 five-star potential items, 1,571 four-star products, and 1,718 three-star products, making Hà Nội the national leader in OCOP certification.

With this new initiative, the capital aims to not only strengthen its domestic e-commerce footprint but also become a pioneer in promoting Vietnamese craft and specialty goods to international markets./.
