VGP - The Ha Noi Department of Transport will apply an offline mode for virtual tickets starting from September 20 in a bid to make it more convenient for the city's public transport commuters.

To access the new feature, passengers will need to update the "Ve Giao Thong Ha Noi" (Public Transport Tickets in Hanoi) app, allowing them to use e-tickets without an internet connection.

Offline virtual tickets take effect from the time of successful registration (without spending three to four days of waiting to obtain cards and queuing up to get monthly ticket stamps in comparison with physical cards).

In addition, it is more convenient for offline virtual ticket commuters to register for cards, renew monthly tickets for relatives and track service history.

Ha Noi currently operates 153 bus routes, including 128 subsidized routes, nine non-subsidized routes, 12 routes connecting the city to neighboring provinces, and three city tour routes.

Despite significant improvements in service quality, the city's goal of meeting 30-35 percent of residents' travel demand remains a challenge.

In the first six months of this year, the public bus system operated by the Ha Noi Transportation Corporation (Transerco) transported over 118 million passengers./.
