The view was shared at a meeting on May 27 between Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh and Venezuela's Ambassador to Viet Nam Juan Carlos Fernandes Juarez.

Ha Noi People's Committee Chairman Tran Sy Thanh affirmed that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam value the traditional and excellent diplomatic relations with Venezuela.

He said that Ha Noi always backs the activities of the Venezuelan Embassy in the capital, especially the events marking the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Regarding the sister city relationship between the two capitals, the Chairman stated that Ha Noi would work with relevant agencies to promote this initiative. He also requested the Venezuelan Embassy in Hanoi to facilitate discussions with Caracas authorities, with a view to a timely signing to strengthen the bilateral relations.

Thanh noted that the city's leaders would assign relevant departments and localities to study and work directly with the Embassy to discuss the details of the cooperation.

Concerning the project to restore the space for a Venezuelan ceramic tile mural at a suitable location in Hanoi, Thanh stressed the need for the project and stated that "Ha Noi authorities would assign functional agencies to research and survey suitable locations in line with the overall planning of the Ceramic Road."

Building on the strong foundation of cooperation between the two countries, the Chairman expressed confidence that during his tenure, Ambassador Juárez would vigorously promote collaboration between Hanoi and the Venezuelan Embassy, contributing to elevating bilateral relations to new heights.

The traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two countries have been strengthened across three pillars: Party diplomacy, State diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy. Venezuela has welcomed high-level Vietnamese delegations, including a visit by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang to Venezuela in April 2024.

Hanoi remains committed to supporting the activities of the Venezuelan Embassy in the capital, especially the events marking the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In reply, Ambassador Juan Carlos Fernandes Juárez said that this symbolic move would help take the Viet Nam-Venezuela and Ha Noi-Caracas relationships to new heights.

Discussing activities to promote cultural exchange, the Venezuelan Ambassador wished to restore the Venezuelan ceramic tile mural at a suitable location in Ha Noi. He emphasized that 2024 is a significant year, as it marks the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

This year presents an opportunity to reflect on the Viet Nam-Venezuela relationship and to lay a foundation for future developments that will contribute positively to the progress of both nations, he said.

Additionally, the Ambassador suggested that in 2024, the two countries could jointly organize events such as "Viet Nam Day in Venezuela," "Venezuela Culture Week in Viet Nam," and the "Rice Festival in Venezuela" to strengthen the friendship between the peoples of both nations./.
