Ha Noi Capital Press Center makes debut
VGP - On May 9, the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee inaugurated the Capital Press Centre at Facility No. 2 of the city’s Centre for Communications, Data and Digital Technology, located at 17 Dien Bien Phu Street, Ba Dinh District.

This is a momentous event, as it marks the first time that Ha Noi has established a media institution under an "Open" mechanism – directly connect to a network of local communication hubs, enabling a two-way information coordination between the administration to different branch locations.
This serves as a vital foundation for developing a digitalized government, digital media and digital citizen services.
The event drew the attendance of Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, Chairman of the Viet Nam Journalist Association Le Quoc Minh; Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism Le Hai Binh; Director General of Government Portal Nguyen Hong Sam along with representatives of relevant agencies.
The centre is equipped with modern infrastructure, including an open and flexible newsroom suitable for multiple media formats, including print, photo, television, and multimedia. Key technical systems include high-speed data transmission, digital data storage, a central information coordination hub, live broadcast studios, video conferencing equipment, and real-time digital data dashboards.
A notable feature of the centre is its application of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) for monitoring online trends, analysing information in cyberspace, detecting misinformation, and using big data to assess the impact of media coverage. This forms part of the city’s strategy to build a smart, open, and user-friendly media ecosystem.
Speaking at the event, Chairman Tran Sy Thanh highlighted the centre’s role as a focal point for receiving, processing, and distributing information from municipal administrative agencies. It will also serve as a platform to connect city departments with the media, the public, and the business community.
The centre’s establishment demonstrates the city’s strong commitment to transparency and modern public administration, while also supporting the development of a dynamic and responsive media environment. It is expected to contribute to building a digital, friendly, and citizen-oriented government.
On the occasion, the Ha Noi People’s Committee Office announced the official regulation on the management and operation of the Capital Press Centre, which provides a legal framework for the centre’s activities.
A cooperation agreement was also signed between the Ha Noi People’s Committee Office and the government portal to strengthen data connectivity and facilitate timely access to official information for media agencies.
Additionally, the Centre for Communications, Data and Digital Technology signed cooperation agreements with Ha Noi-based press organisations to develop a media network that leverages digital platforms, enhances information sharing, and improves the timeliness of responses to emerging social issues.

Ha Noi is the heart of the country, thus, Ha Noi Press Center will become a common home – a place for connection, exchange and information distribution for journalists from central and Ha Noi. Both domestic and international journalists will be able to receive the latest and most accurate information; further the effort toward information transparency and help guide public discourse./
