VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh raised six tasks for Ha Noi to build a cultured, civilized and modern metropolis.

The Government voiced the tasks at a ceremony held in the capital city on October 8 in which 10 outstanding others were honoured for their exceptional contributions to Ha Noi and 700 individuals were titled the "good people, good deeds."

Prime Minister Pham who is the Chairman of the Central Emulation and Commendation Council hailed the localitiy for its creativity to implement the patriotic emulation movements.

He hoped that the "good people, good deeds" movement will continue growing, encouraging local officials, Party members, and residents to obtain further impressive accomplishments.

Six top tasks

Firstly, the city will implement the revised Law on the Capital and the city's master plan and continue implementing the Politburo's Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW from 2022 regarding the direction of development and tasks for Ha Noi through 2030 with a vision towards 2045 to transform Ha Noi into a cultured, civilized, and modern metropolis.

Secondly, the city should spur patriotic emulation movements and contribution aspiration for all officials, civil servants and residents, so that the spirit of 'Good People, Good Deeds' becomes deeply embedded as a cultural characteristic of the capital.

Thirdly, the city should uphold the collective strengthen, utilize potentials and advantiges as the Capital to rise. The city should also take the leading role for the region, the Red River Delta, the Northern key economic region and the whole country.

Fourthly, it is necessary for Ha Noi to restructure the local econmy in combination with growth modal transformation, pursuing new driving forces namely science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, green growth, economic circulartion, night economy.

Fifly, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of Party building and apparatus reorganization.

Sixthly, he also mentioned socio-political stability, social order, effective settlement of environment, flooding, traffic jams, transport accidents, fire prevention.

On the occasion, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh launched the "good people, good deeds" movement for 2025, with a focus on the promotion of the communications work on the revolutionary tradition, patriotic emulation movements, and marked achievements of the city and country, as well as the implementation of the amended Capital Law and the city's planning schemes.

The ten individuals who were presented the titled of 'Outstanding Citizen of the Capital' for 2024 are: Professor, Dr of Economics, Senior Lecturer and People's Teacher Hoang Van Cuong (former vice-rector of the National Economics University); People's Artisan Phan Thi Kim Dung, member of the Women's Union of Nhân Chính Ward, Thanh Xuan District; Hoang Quoc Hai, member of the Ha Noi Union of Literature and Arts; Dao Quang Hoan, deputy office manager of the Economic & Urban Newspaper, deputy director of the Ngoc An Psychology-Education Research and Application Centre; Lieutenant General Chu Duy Kinh, member of the Veterans' Association of Vinh Phuc Ward, Ba Dinh District; Dr. Duong Thi Thanh Mai, former director of the Institute of Legal Sciences, Ministry of Justice, head of the Expert Group for amending the Law on the Capital; Pham Quang Nghi, former Politburo member, former Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee; Phung Huu Phu, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ha Nội Party Committee, former Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Council; Associate Professor, Medical Doctor, Senior Doctor, People's Physician Nguyen Van Thach, former Deputy Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital; and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan, Chief of Police of Lang Ha Ward, Dong Da District, former Chief of Police of Lang Thuong Ward.
