City-level tourist area announced
VGP - The People’s Committee of Ha Noi recognised Hoan Kiem lake, its surrounding areas and the Old Quarter as a city-level tourist area.

The new city-level tourist area has a total area of 145.72 hectares with many historical, cultural, architectural, and traditional artistic relic sites, associated with the history of building and defending the nation.
This place was ranked as a special national historical and cultural relic site.
Hoan Kiem is also connected with the Old Quarter which includes such streets as Hang Ngang, Hang Dao, Cau Go, Luong Van Can, and Lo Su; and the French Quarter that includes Bao Khanh, Nha Tho, Trang Thi, Hang Bai, Dinh Tien Hoang, Trang Tien, Hang Khay and Ba Trieu.
The Old Quarter is associated with the formation and development of Thang Long – Ha Noi.
Currently, it has 76 streets in 10 wards, and is recognized as a national historical and cultural relic site.
The pedestrian zones around Hoan Kiem Lake, nearby areas, and some streets in the Old Quarter are always magnets for local residents and tourists on the weekends.
The zone around Hoan Kiem Lake and nearby areas alone attracts about 15,000 - 20,000 visitors every weekend evening, statistics show./.
