VGP - More than 200 local artists, aged 27 and less will compete at the 2015 Viet Nam-Laos-Cambodia Young Circus Talent Contest from December 8 to12 in the capital city.

About  600 young performers from the region aged 14 to 27 have registered to compete for prizes in the five categories of acrobatics, juggling, balancing, magic, and circus clowns.

Six circus teams, including four from Viet Nam, one from Laos and one from Cambodia, will bring to the competition 34 circus acts.

Head of the Performing Arts Department Nguyen Dang Chuong said the competition, held triennially, aims to cement the friendship and solidarity among people, especially youth of the three nations.

The event is an excellent chance for future circus talents to learn and exchange experience with each other and hone their stage performance and acrobatic skills, Chuong noted.

Gold and silver medals will be presented to most outstanding individuals and groups of performers while the judges also pick out the best director and the best coach.
