Capital to pilot public bicycle service in five inner districts
VGP - The Ha Noi Municipal People's Committee asked the local Department of Transport to develop a 18-month project on public bike service in five inner districts.

In the first phase from 2022-2023, around 1,000 bikes and electric bikes will be available for rent at between 70-80 points in five districts including Ba Dinh, Tay Ho, Dong Da, Ha Dong, and Thanh Xuan from 2022 and 2023.
In the second phase from 2023 to 2024 which will be deployed from 2023 to 2024, the service will be expanded to surrounding districts with 3,000 bikes arranged at 350 points.
The project is estimated to cost VND 26 billion (US$ 1.13 million). During a 12-month pilot period, service fee will be VND 20,000 (US$0.86) per hour or VND 200,000 a day.
Additionally, the investor proposed the Ha Noi Municipal People's Committee to set up a number of electronic charging stations for better service.
The Ha Noi Department of Transport hopes that the project will help improve the efficiency of public transport services as well as reduce personal vehicle use.
In Ho Chi Minh City, at the end of 2021, Tri Nam Company piloted a bicycle rental service in District 1. After 10 days of implementation (from December 16 to 26, 2021), the model attracted 19,000 users./.
