Capital targets to fight wastefulness, practice thrift

VGP – Ha Noi will cut spending of local state budget by reducing conferences, seminars, public ceremonies, overseas trips and canceling all groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies in a bid to fight wastefulness.

This is part of a decision on thrift practice and anti-wastefulness program in the city signed by of Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh.

Accordingly, the city will focus on effective tasks and solutions to remove difficulties for production and business, ensure social order and safety to restore and develop its economy, and strive to achieve all socio-economic development targets set by the municipal People's Council.

The local authorities will tighten discipline on financial and budgetary spending; drastically implement measures to combat tax loss, tax evasion and deal with tax arrears; strictly control the local budget deficit; manage public debt in accordance with regulations.

Specifically, the city targets to cut 10% on regular expenditure by tightening budget spending, reducing the number of conferences, seminars, public ceremonies, overseas trips, and cancelling all groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies.

In addition, the capital will reduce state budget subsidies to public administrations' service units.

The local authorities will review public assets, including housing and land facilities, to ensure that they are used for the right purposes, standards, and norms in accordance with regulations and requirements./.
