Director of the Department Tran Thi Nhi Ha said amid the complicated developments of COVID-19 in a number of localities, the department has organized a separated section at the airport for people travelling from HCMC to Ha Noi and taken random samples for SARS-CoV-2 testing from them.

On June 16, 97 random samples were collected, all turning out negative.

The capital has logged a total 736 cases of COVID-19 so far.

Previously, Noi Bai International Airport stopped welcoming passengers from abroad from June 1 to June 14 amid rising COVID-19 infections in the capital. However, on June 2, the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam (CAAV) made an urgent announcement to airlines and international airports Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat about resuming international flights to Ha Noi and HCMC immediately./.
