Capital builds houses for social policy beneficiaries

Of those, 3,520 new houses are being constructed and 3,778 others are being repaired, with an estimated cost of almost VND 379 billion (US$ 16.7 million), sourced from the State budget.
Khuat Van Thanh, Director of the municipal Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs was quoted as saying that the implementation of the program faces various obstacles.
Some of these difficulties are the large number of recipients and unclear criteria for deteriorated houses, thus making it hard to decide the level of financial assistance.
Mr. Thanh suggested a number of measures to these issues, including faster disbursement of the construction funds, which should be updated following current market prices./.
