Budget collection surges by 25% in seven months

VGP – About 167.68 trillion (US$7.18 billion) in budget revenue were collected in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 24.9%, which was higher than the national average of 17.6%, according to the Ha Noi Customs Department.

The amount was equivalent to 59.5 percent of the city's yearly plan.

The banking sector witnessed the highest budget revenue collection with VND 21.61 trillion, representing a year-on-year increase of 93 percent. It was followed by revenue from securities businesses that hit VND over 2.1 trillion, up 74 percent year-on-year.

Revenue from real estate and construction valued VND 5.59 trillion, up 37%.

So far, VND 4.14 trillion of tax arrears were mobilized.

The Department has been providing all possible conditions in terms of administrative procedures for taxpayers to fulfill their obligations, given that many businesses have gone through various hardships caused by COVID-19, said Nguyen Tien Truong, Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Customs Department.

The municipal tax authority has strengthened the implementation of tax management solutions to step up support and remove difficulties for enterprises to stabilize and expand their businesses, as well as to nurture sustainable sources of revenue for the state budget and create new ones.

The department will also focus on revenue management in the field of digital-based business so that more effective policies and management methods will be applied in the coming time./.
