Well made in Thailand

VGP - The 2014 Made-in-Thailand Outlet Fair is taking place in Ha Noi from August 14 -17, attracting more than 150 Thai exhibitors and a range of quality and eye-catching products.

As many as 180 pavilions at the fair introduce food, fruits, beverages, household utensils, garments and textiles, jewellery, electronics, cosmetics, automobiles, souvenirs, decorations, and aviation equipment.

Addressing the opening ceremony on August 14, Thai ambassador to Viet Nam Panyarak Poolthup affirmed that the event is an opportunity for Vietnamese and Thai enterprises to extend networking and boost trade.

Two countries strive to increase their trade value by 20% annually, aiming to gross $15 billion by 2020, he added.

Mr. Ta Hoang Linh, deputy head of the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that two-way trade turnover reached over $1 billion in 2000 for the first time and amounted to $9.4 billion in 2013.

Now, Viet Nam is Thailand’s second largest trade partner in ASEAN and its ninth biggest in the world. In the first four months of the year, bilateral trade was $3 billion.
