Tourism sector grows sharply on New Year holidays
VGp – The Capital City of Ha Noi welcomed 253,139 guests, representing a year-on-year growth of 10.6% in the last four days off on the occasion of the New Year.

In the New Year holidays, the number of foreign visitors was estimated at 80,139, representing a year-on-year growth of 16.3%. About 57,700 foreign guests stayed overnight in Ha Noi, up 16.3% against 2018. The number of domestic visitors was estimated at 173,000, up 8% against the same period last year. Total revenue was valued at VND 844 billion, up 13% against the same period last year.
Tourism destinations, programs, and festivals were successfully organized and drew a large number of visitors including the Countdown Party 2019 around Hoan Kiem Lake.
Especially, the Ha Noi Tourism Department and the Viet Nam Airlines Corporation hosted a ceremony to welcome the first foreign visitor in 2019.
Director of the Ha Noi Department of Tourism Tran Duc Hai was quoted as saying that hotels and accommodation facilities proactively prepared for the holidays. Almost all four-five star hotels organized special programs to welcome the New Year with special menus.
In addition, tourism enterprises ensured safety for tourists.
An investigation team of the Department was sent to crowded tourism sites./.
