Tourism sector converts into spearhead sector

Over the past two years (2017-2018 period), average tourism growth rate yearly hit over 9.8%. In the first six months of 2019, the city welcomed 14.39 million  visitors, representing a year-on-year growth of 9.5%.

In the 2017-2018 period, total tourism revenue yearly expanded 12%, accounting for 12.9% of national total tourism revenue. In the first half of 2019, total tourism turnover hit VND 50 trillion, representing a year-on-year growth of 29.8%. 

Over the past two years, the city has improved  tourism quality; conducted international cultural and tourism activities at Hoan Kiem walking street and surrounding areas; introduced Phung Hung mural street; piloted artist performance and street gastronomy at Tay Ho district as well as two double-decker city tours.

The city recognized 11 tourism sites and piloted the community-based modal in Ba Vi commune. 

Especially, the city jointly implemented strategic cooperative program with the CNN to advertize the history, culture, and people of Ha Noi in the 2017-2018 period. 

In addition, smart tourism system was conducted in smart city structure including tourism portal, digital map on tourism in GIS technology, tourism software application on portable mobile devices, development of public WiFi system./.
