The capital city continues promoting image on CNN during 2019-2023

VGP – Ha Noi will continue its cooperation with the U.S.’s Cable News Network (CNN) in 2019 to introduce Ha Noi’s beauty to international audiences as part of the city’s tourism promotion campaign in the 2019-2023 period.

According to the municipal Department of Tourism, the plan has proven effective as it has attracted great interest and positive responses from TV viewers, visitors, and domestic and foreign media agencies.

In 2020, the capital city will be promoted as a new tourist destination, especially with the Formula One racing, while in 2021, the capital city will be introduced as the host of the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games - a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from 11 regional countries. 

In 2022, Ha Noi will be seen in an aspect of technology, a destination of Viet Nam and the world and in 2023 the world’s future gateway.

Last year, CNN broadcast three 30-second promotion clips focusing on Ha Noi, namely “Ha Noi – Heart of Viet Nam”, “Ha Noi – Cradle of Heritage” and “Ha Noi – History, Culture and People”, along with a special program titled “Destination Ha Noi”.

Since the tourism promotion plan on CNN was launched in 2017, the American channel has popularized the images of Ha Noi through stories on different topics such as culture and sports.

In 2018, Ha Noi welcomed 26,31 visitors, including more than 6 million foreign arrivals, and reached VND 7.4 trillion in tourism revenue. The figures are targeted to reach 29 million tourists, 7 million foreigners, and VND103.8 trillion respectively in 2019.

The city’s tourism sector will mobilize all available resources and made every effort to improve its infrastructure, enhance human resource, increase tourism links, and develop more policies supporting tourism in order to fulfill the targets.
