According to Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hồ Xuân Hùng, craft villages always play an important role in the national development.

“For the capital city of Hà Nội, the convergence of quintessence of Vietnamese traditional handicrafts, the preservation and development of craft villages are very essential,” stressed the Deputy Minister.

At present, Hà Nội has 1,350 craft villages doing 47 out 52 different crafts known in Việt Nam. Pottery, textile, leather making, sculpture, embroidery, lacquer, bamboo knitting, and gold jewelry are dominant crafts.
