Over 22,000 enterprises founded in Jan-Oct
VGP – Over 22,000 new enterprises were established in the first ten months of 2020 with a total registered capital of over VND 288 trillion (US$12.4 billion), the Ha Noi Department of Planning and Investment reported.

The Capital witnessed declines of 4% in the number of newly-founded firms and 13% in capital registration value in comparison with the same period last year.
In October, over 2,000 enterprises were dissolved and 9,972 others were temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 impacts.
Earlier, at the Thang Long Entrepreneur Gala 2020 which was held on October 26, Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh promised to implement programs and projects in favor of SMEs development; nurture creative business start-up waves; facilitate business operation.
Mr. Ngoc Anh affirmed that the local authorities would persist in the reform which considers city dwellers and businesses as the center; commit to perfecting the investment, business environment; develop provincial competitiveness index.
Despite the complicated evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, by late September, the city achieved a GRDP of 3.27%, 1.5 times higher than the national average rate.
The city approved over VND 17.5 trillion of tax breaks for enterprises./.
