VGP - Two-thirds of the COVID-19 infected cases in Ha Noi have shown no or mild symptoms. Hence, these cases would be easily missed and potentially result in widespread community transmission.

Statistics showed that 68% of the coronavirus cases recorded in Ha Noi displayed mild symptoms. Some patients even had no symptoms at all, said Director of the city’s Center for Disease and Control (CDC).

However, these cases posed high risks of community spread, he added.

The Director underlined the extreme significance of quick tests in the fight against COVID-19.

In the Captial, female infections accounted for 67% of total cases. Meanwhile, male infections were only 23%. The city has conducted  14,000 quick tests.

Ha Noi has taken the lead in the number of Covid-19 cases in Viet Nam, with 122 recorded so far, of whom 58 have been discharged.

Among the new cases, two live in Ha Loi village, Me Linh district. There are 12 people with coronavirus connected to the village.

On April 13, the Chairman of Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee asked nearly 7,000 pharmacies in the city to report on cases of purchasing influenza medicines over the recent times.

All private medical facilities are requested to collect swab tests of patients who show symptoms of cough, fever, and shortness of breath./.
