Speaking at the launching ceremony, PM Dũng called on all Vietnamese citizens to join the movement and to make more and more practical and specific activities in order to welcome the millennium of Thăng Long-Hà Nội.
“The whole party, army and people should highlight our national pride and patriotism, join efforts and determination to fulfill the set targets” stressed the PM.
He asked ministries, sectors and localities to focus on: (i) well implementing the plans and solutions to prevent economic downturn, ensure economic growth pace and social security; (ii) highlighting the national pride and respect to the national historical values, and raising the statures of Hà Nội and Việt Nam in the region and the world; and (iii) completing projects and organizing other activities during the run-up to the grand anniversary of the capital.
The celebration must be based on specific activities closely attached to Hà Nội’s socio-economic development plans, underlined PM Dũng when mentioning the capital’s future orientations.
He urged the capital city to continue nurturing and promoting the traditional culture of the 1000-year-old Thăng Long-Hà Nội, pushing up the planning work of expanded Hà Nội, and grasping all opportunities to invigorate the city’s economic power.
Concluding his speech, PM Dũng again emphasized the long-standing heroism of the Vietnamese people in general and the capital city dwellers in particular, hoping that the whole country will uphold that spirit in the current cause of national construction, poverty reduction and socio-economic development.
