National Young Fine Arts Festival opens

VGP - The 3rd National Young Fine Arts Festival 2014 featuring 112 art works opened at the Viet Nam Fine Arts University in Ha Noi on August 20.

The event were selected from 762 entries submitted by over 110 painting aged between 18 and 35 years of age from across the country, reflect the artists’ creativity and aesthetic sense through a fresh new language of artistic expression.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vuong Duy Bien said the exhibition aims to to encourage the artists’ creativity and diversification of materials, and honor artworks reflecting contemporary life through the lenses of young Vietnamese artists.

Held for the first time in 2007, the festival provided a good opportunity for young artists to express their creativity and show works that reflected their views of contemporary life.

The exhibition will run until September 5.
