National Cancer Hospital’s lockdown removed after over a month

Earlier, the K Hospital immediately activated disease prevention scenarios and was placed under a lockdown on all three facilities from 5:30 AM of May 7 after ten COVID-19 infections were detected there.

Over 5,000 people in these facilities, including employees, patients and their family members were asked to stay inside. Contact tracing showed that most of the infected cases at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases are patients’ family members and caregivers and not the medical staff.

Previously, on May 24, Phan Chu Trinh and Tan Hiep facilities of the K Hospital resumed operation and received patients.

General Director of Administration of Medical Service Luong Ngoc Khue praised medical workers of the hospital for their determination and effort to prevent disease transmission. Mr. Luong called upon the hospital to ensure disease prevention and improve medical care quality.

As scheduled, the hospital will receive patients from June 16.

As of mid-June 14, 74 cases of community infections of coronavirus were linked to the K Hospital./.
