May’s CPI: Capital down

VGP – Ha Noi’s consumer prices in May dropped by a slight 0.07% against the previous month, according to the municipal Statistics Office.

The CPI saw a year-on-year increase of 6.43%.
 
Ha Noi Department of Industry and Trade in turn said the price of rice in the market is slightly lower due to an abundance of supply while demand is stable.

Prices of restaurants and food services fell by 0.57% against the previous month.

The group of transport experienced the sharpest price hike due to higher bus fees and adjusted oil prices.
 
Meanwhile, hot weather was blamed for 0.41% rising cost of household utensils and equipment.
 
Prices of garments, hats, footwear, beverage and tobacco also went up slightly against last month.

Gold prices have continued to drop (by 1.4%) from the previous month in line with the world price decline in gold while the USD price remained stable.
