Speaking at the ceremony, former Romanian Ambassador Valeriu Arteni said that he considered Viet Nam his second homeland.
Expressing his delight at Viet Nam’s impressive development, Valeriu Arteni affirmed that he will keep doing his utmost to promote cooperation between Viet Nam and Romania as well as between Ha Noi and Bucharest in the time ahead.
In turn, Chung emphasized that this is a special event to honor foreign individuals who have made great contributions to the development, friendship and international cooperation between Ha Noi in particular and Viet Nam in general with other countries.
Chung hailed the tireless efforts made by Arteni, who studied and lived in Viet Nam for 25 years, to promote friendship as well as cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Hanoi and Bucharest, and Viet Nam and Romania as a whole.
The Ha Noi authority and people recognize and appreciate the contributions that Valeriu Arteni had made to the capital city, expressing his hope that the title will be a source of encouragement for him to make further contributions in the future, he stressed.
