Master plan of Hoa Lac township helps ease core urban area pressure

VGP – Hoa Lac is the largest satellite town among the five of its kind. The latest introduction of the master plan of the Hoa Lac township is expected to reduce pressure on population and infrastructure on the core urban area.

Ha Noi’s total administrative boundary is 3,344.6 km2 including one core urban center and five satellite towns namely Son Tay, Soc Son, Phu Xuyen, Xuan Mai, and Hoa Lac. 

Last week, the local authorities introduced the PM-approved master plan of the Hoa Lac urban area till 2030, covering 17,274 hectares, with the scale of 1/10,000.

The township comprises of some parts of Quoc Oai and Thach That districts and Son Tay town, about 30 km from to the west of Ha Noi’s downtown.

The master plan of the Hoa Lac urban area is part of the general planning for building the capital city till 2030, with the vision till 2050.

The master plan aims to convert Hoa Lac urban area into a modern new city with synchronous social infrastructure and technical infrastructure; alleviate the population pressure of Ha Noi’s downtown and is supposed to be the driving force for socio-economic development of Ha Noi’s outlying districts.

Hoa Lac urban center will become a science and technology city, the hub of advanced intelligence and technology, high-quality human resource training facilities, science and technology research center, national universities and vocational colleges, and hospitals.

This will also become an eco-resort city, comprising of green urban areas, smart and energy-saving city to the west of Ha Noi.

Its population will be about 150,000 by 2025. By 2030 and the following years, about 600,000 people will be living in the area, with urban dwellers accounting for about 85%./.
